Electric power sustains homes, public services, production, commerce and industry. ANDE plans, operates and expands the system to meet today's needs and the country's future growth. Generation is primarily hydroelectric — Itaipú, Yacyretá and Acaray.

The Master Plans coordinate generation, transmission, distribution, ICT and loss-reduction works to expand capacity and strengthen reliability: Generation 2024–2043, Transmission 2024–2033, Distribution 2024–2033, ICT 2024–2035 and Loss Reduction 2025–2028.
